Abstract: A method and system is provided for attaching user defined information to a process object in a data processing system. The method comprises creating a process control block corresponding to an invoked process. The control block has system defined process variables that are assigned values by the operating system. The method further comprises defining a user defined process variable in the process control block, and assigning a value to the user defined process variable.
